China issues blue alert for rainstorm

China’s meteorological authority issued a blue alert on Saturday night, as storms will hit some southern and northeastern regions.

According to the National Meteorological Center, over the next two days, parts of Guizhou, Chongqing, Hubei and Hunan will be hit by torrential rain.

Rainfall is expected to reach up to 150 millimeters in these areas.

China has a four-tier color-coded warning system for severe weather, with red being the most serious, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
