China’s first lunar probe, the Chang’e 3, has entered its 33rd dormancy period, breaking the world record for the longest operation time of a lunar probe. The Chang’e 3 landed on the Moon in December 2013 and has since conducted planetary observations. The probe made history one year later when it created the first mapped section of the Moon. So far, the Chang’e 3 has collected more than seven-terabytes of data.
