China and Mozambique have agreed to lift the bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. The announcement came after the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mozambican President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi in Beijing on Wednesday. Nyusi is on a state visit to China from May 16 to 21, under the invitation of President Xi. The Mozambican president leads a delegation including six ministers, namely the ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Trade and Industry, Public Works, Housing and Water and Culture and Tourism Resources.
