Typhoon Malakas has entered the southern part of the East China Sea after brushing Taiwan’s east coast. Waves up to 4.4-meters high are expected in the coastal regions of Zhejiang and Fujian provinces. Residents are advised to take extra caution, as strong winds and heavy rains are expected, and ships have been told to stay clear of the coast. Typhoon Malakas comes just days after Typhoon Meranti killed at least 28 people and left another 15 missing in eastern China.
