US President Barack Obama says the newly-signed Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade deal will allow “America — and not countries like China — to write the rules of the road” in the new century. China’s Foreign Ministry has responded, saying trade rules should not be written by ANY single country. A spokesman said China has always upheld the role of the WTO in formulating world trade rules. He urged the US not to politicize trade issues.
