China-Russia naval drills continue in South China Sea

China and Russia are conducting joint military drills in the South China Sea. A special maritime search and rescue exercise began on Friday morning when two Chinese helicopters went in search of a Russian vessel in distress. The drills also include on-board inspections and even a naval convoy for merchant ships. The eight-day exercise is the largest of its kind ever undertaken by the two countries.
