China’s 1st lunar rover Yutu sets record for longest stay on moon

Landed on the moon in 2013, now China’s first lunar rover, Yutu, has set the record for the longest stay by a rover.

Yutu, whose name means “jade rabbit” in Chinese, experienced a mechanical failure in 2014, but gained hails after it awoke within a month.

Though it is unable to move, its ‘ears’ are still twitching, taking data and communicating with earth.
