China’s Beidou navigation satellite system to cover the globe by 2020

Two Chinese Beidou satellites have passed tests in orbit, bringing China one step closer in its plan to serve the globe with domestic-made satellites. It was the 20th satellite for the Beidou Navigation Satellite System. The most recent three satellites launched earlier this year have successfully linked with each other in outer space. That means China’s home-grown navigation system is ready for global coverage. China is only the third country in the world to have its own navigation satellites.
