China’s environment: PM2.5 levels down 14.1% in 2015

China’s minister of environmental protection, Chen Jining, said blues skies are gradually returning to the country’s big cities, thanks to strenuous efforts to clean the country’s air. Last year, the number of heavy air pollution days and the overall level of PM2.5 annually were significantly lower. Of the 74 cities that enforced the new air quality standards in 2015, PM2.5 levels were down 14.1% year-on-year.
