China’s FM urges Japan not to intervene in South China Sea issue

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has urged Japan not to intervene in the South China Sea issue, saying Tokyo is not directly concerned in any disputes there. Wang’s appeal came during talks with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida in the capital of Laos, Vientiane. Wang urged Japan not to exacerbate tensions, and to take steps to create conditions for better ties with China. Kishida said Japan is willing to enhance high-level exchanges with China, expand economic and anti-terror cooperation, and appropriately deal with differences.
