China’s Guangxi sees booming border trade thanks to Belt and Road

South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has reported a 15-percent rise in foreign trade in 2015 thanks to the Belt and Road Initiative.

Official data show trade with the ASEAN economies, which are Guangxi’s major trade partners, saw a surge of 19.6 percent from 2014.

Pingxiang city is one of the largest fruit imports and exports ports in China.

As the most convenient passage to Southeast Asia, the city has become the fast lane for fruit imports.
