China’s largest airline, Southern Airlines, started a new route between the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou and Kenya’s capital, Nairobi on Wednesday. The 12-hour flight was the first by a Chinese carrier that links China to Africa. This will be the airline’s second direct route to Africa after Mauritius, and will capitalize on the growing tourism industry and business travel volume between Asia and Africa, particularly to Nairobi.
