Chinese Ambassador to Peru Jia Guide said on June 16 in Lima that more Chinese investment will come to this South American country, despite international economic difficulties.

“With international prices of bulk commodities going low, both China and Peru face major external economic difficulties. However, the pace of investment by Chinese companies has not stopped in Peru.”
The ambassador made the remarks while addressing the 19th Seminar on Economics Research at the National University of San Marcos.

“The ambassador has made clear the possibilities of China increasing its investment with the new government being installed in Peru. It seems quite positive for the Peruvian economy.”
The two-day seminar was entitled “The new period of growth of China’s economy and its impact on Peru and the world.”

“What I know is that China is investing heavily in Peru. Throughout Latin America, I think Peru is where China increases its investment. China is now the second world power.”
According to official figures from Peru, China has registered a total investment of nearly 20 billion U.S. dollars in Peru and the bilateral trade volumes reached 15 billion U.S. dollars in 2015.
