Chinese built airport inaugurated in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe’s project to develop its infrastructure especially in the tourism sector which plays got a boost with the completion of Victoria Falls International Airport.

The expansion of the Victoria Falls International Airport with a concessionary loan facility of $150 million through China Exim Bank enabled the airport upgrading project to take off in April 2013. The scope of the work carried out involved the construction of a new 4km runway, international terminal building, fire station, control tower, installation of state of the art specialist aviation equipment and upgrading of the current airport wing into a domestic terminal building.
