Chinese Defense Ministry voices strong opposition to US arms sale to Taiwan

The US government has notified Congress of a 1.83 billion US dollar arms sale package for Taiwan. The sale includes two frigates, anti-tank missiles, amphibious assault vehicles and other equipment. It’s the first major arms sale to Taiwan in more than four years. China’s Defense Ministry has voiced strong opposition to the arms sale. Spokesperson Yang Yujun said the Taiwan issue is a matter of Chinese sovereignty and territorial integrity, and China firmly opposes any arms sale to Taiwan by any foreign government.
