Chinese doctor wins praise for kneeling down to rescue patient

A doctor in south China’s Hunan Province wins praise for kneeling down to rescue a patient who suffers a heart attack.

Surveillance video shows a middle-aged man, who was walking into a hospital in Changsha, suddenly dropped to the ground.

Shortly afterwards, Yang Zhiwei came to his rescue.

“I was going out for lunch. But then I heard someone cry for help. I ran over, and saw a man lying motionless on the ground. So I performed chest compressions on him.”

About 1 minute later, the man regained consciousness. He was then rushed into the hospital for emergency treatment.

The man was found to be suffering a heart attack. He went through a surgery and is now recovering at the hospital.
