China will participate in the second round of international talks on the Syrian crisis.
China’s permanent representative to the UN says his country will call for a political solution to ending Syria’s four-year civil war.

“We are at a critical moment of stepping up efforts to achieve a political solution of the Syrian crisis…It is imperative that various Syrian sides conduct, under the auspices of the United Nations, comprehensive, inclusive dialogue and consultations on an equal footing.”
The envoy also said that the first Vienna ministrial-level meeting was a positive development.
The second broad ministerial meeting on Syria will take place in Vienna on November 14.
China will take part in the meeting to help facilitate a political solution.
According to the UN, more than 200,000 people have been killed in the Syrian civil war since 2011. 14 million people have forced to flee their homes.
