It has become a tradition for China’s foreign ministers to choose African nations as the first overseas visits of the new year. Incumbent, Wang Yi, followed that tradition and started his four-nation visits on Saturday. He restated China’s continued commitment to enhancing China-Africa relations. Wang will go first to the landlocked country of Malawi in the southeast, followed by the island nation Mauritius. The last two stops will be, the southeastern country Mozambique and lastly Namibia.
