Chinese FM Wang Yi meets Laos counterpart and invites Laos to attend G20 summit

This year’s G20 summit in China will be attended by a record number of developing countries. China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi made the remarks after meeting with his Laotian counterpart Saleumxay Kommas in Beijing on Wednesday. Laos is not a G20 member but China has invited Laos to attend this year’s G20 summit in Hangzhou, along with a number of other developing countries. China and Laos are also in the process of signing a number of cooperation agreements to further the Belt and Road Initiative, boost investment, and increase trade along their borders.
