Chinese peacekeepers prepare for Africa missions

Since the 1990s, China has been participating in UN peacekeeping operations, mainly in Africa. Now China is contributing more to the continent. A 700-strong infantry battalion will leave for South Sudan for a one-year posting in December, and 225 military engineers will depart for the Darfur region. They hope the mission will help to bring African people hope, peace and a better life.
