Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit UK

President Xi will make a state visit to the UK from Oct. 19 to 23, at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II.

This is the first visit by a Chinese president in a decade and the most important event in bilateral ties this year.

Xi’s tour is seen as a milestone in bilateral ties, following Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to Britain last year and Prime Minister David Cameron’s visit to China in 2013.

Britain has become China’s second largest trade partner in the European Union and China was Britain’s sixth largest goods export market last year.
