China’s steel production continued to increase in May due to recent price gains. Official data showed on Monday that crude steel output stood at 70.5 million tons in May, up 1.8 percent from a year ago and rising 1.5 percent month on month. The National Bureau of Statistics says the production rebound was partly due to recent increase of steel price, which spurred many plants to beef up production.
