Chinese troops arrive in South Sudan for UN peacekeeping mission

Chinese UN peacekeeping troops have reached Wau, South Sudan under a one-year mandate. The force consists of a peacekeeping engineer detachment and a medical detachment comprising more than 300 members. China has also started shipping materials for its first peacekeeping helicopter unit, from its northern port of Tianjin. The materials will arrive at Port Sudan in mid-November, and arrive in South Sudan in mid-January.
