“Colorful” village in SW China

A village in southwest China’s Yunnan Province is becoming popular thanks to its special wall art.

The Jinlong village, in Lijiang City has 442 houses — each has its walls painted with at least one of nine colors, and some are three-dimensional.

Though the wall decor is still being processed, the village is already drawing hordes of tourists.

“This house is so colorful. We can’t see it elsewhere. We love taking pictures here.”

The wall paintings are indeed part of the village’s efforts to boost tourism.

Relevant tourist projects are expected to be operational in August.
