Congress on Thursday (August 6) continued the protest against the suspension of Congress MPs at Gandhi Statue in the Parliament premises. Congress president Sonia Gandhi along with leaders of some other opposition parties staged protests in the Parliament complex for the third day against the suspension of 25 MPs. Speaking on the Naga peace accord, Sonia Gandhi said, We are actually shocked that Prime Minister did not even think of taking into confidence our Chief Ministers.” “He did not even think of taking into confidence our Manipur CM, Assam CM, Arunachal Pradesh CM who are directly affected. Here is another show of the arrogance of this government,” she said. “It may be historic (Naga peace accord), but what about consulting the CMs of the states which are directly affected. Isn’t that proof of arrogance of this Govt?” questioned Sonia.
