“We have strengthened the diplomatic ties for 9 years to have these current relations, especially in trade. President Solis has visited China and Chinese leaders have visited Costa Rica. Each visit has helped enhance our trade and cultural exchange.”

Performers from the Musical Institute of Sichuan presented a variety show for the event, entertaining the guests with splendid acrobatics, songs and dances.

“We would very much like to have more Chinese tourists, the number of whom has been on rise. They felt comfortable coming to Costa Rica, which is a beautiful country to visit.”

Establishing diplomatic relations with China in June 2007, Costa Rica remains the sole country in Central America that has such ties with China.
