The crisis in South Sudan will also be discussed at the General Assembly. The UN has been pushing for the country to make good on its commitments to allow in regional peacekeepers. The government now says it will do so, as long as the troops come from outside the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) region. South Sudan is one of the eight member states of IGAD, a regional trade bloc covering the Horn of Africa, Nile Valley and the African Great Lakes. However, leaders in the capital Juba have not yet decided which countries those troops will come from. CCTV’s Patrick Oyet reports.
