Criticizing BJP government’s NSA talks with Pakistan in Bangkok

Congress MLAs Randeep Singh Surjewala and Manish Tewari said that they didn’t ‘agree’ with the government’s decision to have ‘private’ talks. Surjewala said, “Congress party has stood for peaceful resolution of all disputes through dialogues with neighbours in a spirit of coexistence and cooperation. However, Modi government has not taken either Parliament or political parties in confidence on the specifics or the frameworks of the current talks.” Tiwari further added, “My question to the government is what has changed since September 2015 to December 2015? Have we moved ahead with 26/11 hearing? Have we got information on don Dawood Ibrahim? Bangkok constitutes not just a great betrayal but a great blunder as well.” Following the NSA talks between India and Pakistan, India’s external Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will be visiting Pakistan tomorrow, on a two day visit. She is likely return to India on December 8.
