The governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan said on Tuesday that more than 350 people were killed and more than 2,000 others injured in the Monday’s 7.5 magnitude temblor.
Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority said the death toll from Monday in northeastern Afghanistan has risen to 248. The number of injured stood at 1,665.
And the Afghanistan government tweeted that 115 people had been killed and 538 others wounded, and added that 4,000 houses and compounds had been damaged by the quake.
Pakistan’s Information Minister said the death toll could rise as the remote areas could not be reached due to the landslides and suspension of the telecommunication services.
The quake also jolted India-controlled Kashmir Monday, where three people were killed and 15 others injured.
