The death toll has now risen to 22 following a suicide car bombing in Somalia’s capital city of Mogadishu on Tuesday. Thirty people were also injured in the attack, with victims including both soldiers and civilians. The militant group, al-Shabaab, claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it targeted the hotel because it was “close to the presidential palace, and also home to “apostates and unbelievers”.
