Father of the minor driving the Mercedes Benz that killed 32-year-old business consultant Siddharth Sharma has been booked under Motor Vehicles Act on Wednesday (April 6). He’s the owner of the vehicle and his underage son was driving without a license. Sharma, who was also pursuing an IT course died later in hospital. Locals said the accident took place around 9 PM, after Sharma had got noodles packed for dinner from a shop opposite a five-star hotel and was walking back home. Eyewitness Sudhir Kumar, who informed the police and took Sharma to hospital, said at least five boys, including one who appeared to be just 10 years old, stepped out of the car (DL 2F CM 3000) immediately after the accident and tried to run away towards Oberoi apartments. They were caught by locals but managed to free themselves and flee, he said. Sharma was admitted in the intensive care unit of a private hospital on Sham Nath Marg and his family members were informed. Sharma’s neighbour Nitin said the locals managed to inform the victim’s office despite his mobile and laptop being password protected.
