Denmark expels foreign student for doing too much part-time work

Denmark expelled a top foreign undergraduate, 30-year-old Marius Youbi, on January 8 because he worked for 90 minutes more than the 15 hours a week that the law allows for overseas students. Now Danish immigration authorities are examining a formal complaint by another foreign student, 28-year-old Shalik Ram Bhattarai. The Nepalese national has also been ordered to leave the country with his wife and three-year-old son because he had worked too many hours. Danes are debating whether in Shalik’s case deportation is too harsh.
