Turkey and Israel have agreed to normalize diplomatic relations six years after an Israeli raid in 2010 killed 10 Turks on the Mavi Marmara, a Turkish-flagged ship aiming to break Israel’s Gaza blockade. The agreement was announced by the prime ministers of both nations and is expected to be signed on Tuesday. However, it may take some time to elevate their relations to the level in the 1990s when the two countries shared a close alliance.
