For the first time in nearly two decades, Iran’s President is making an official visit to Europe. Hassan Rouhani mainly has economic matters on his mind with a host of deals set to be signed with key EU partners. Almost as soon as the Iran nuclear deal was signed earlier this month, European trade delegations flocked to Iran, eager for a piece of the re-emerging market. And it appears that those overtures are now bearing fruit. Cui Hongjian from the China Institute of International Studies, University of Tehran’s Mohammad Marandi and Joav Toker, Professor of the American Graduate School in Paris, help us understand the full implications of this renewed relationship between Iran and Europe.
