US President-elect Donald Trump has outlined priorities for his first 100 days in the White House. And one of them is withdrawing the US from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, also known as TPP. Though this has been an anticipative decision from the new administration, ripples are still felt throughout the Asia-Pacific region and many questions have been raised. What will become of the deal if the US truly withdraws? What about the rest of the US-backed trade deals in Trump’s pocket? To discuss a future possibly without the TPP, we have on our panel: Liu Baocheng from the University of International Business and Economics; Gary Hufbauer from Peterson Institute of International Economics; Simon Lester, a trade policy analyst with Cato Institute; and Eunjung Lim from Johns Hopkins University.
