At least 1,400 US marines and 500 Philippine troops recently participated in a joint military exercise in Southeast Asia. Philippine President, Rodrigo Duterte says it will be the last joint military exercise of its kind during his presidency. Duterte has also started reaching out to China and Russia as relations between Manila and Washington have cooled.
