China’s smog problem has made headlines across the world for all the wrong reasons. This week authorities even held a conference on urban development, the first of its kind in 37 years, with an extensive focus on environmental challenges. But are there really any short-term solutions to the hazardous haze, or will Beijingers be wearing face masks for the foreseeable future?
