Some experts claim that rebalancing the growing influence of China in the Asia-Pacific region is part of the US campaign to regulate the “assertiveness of China’s military build-up”, particularly in the East China Sea and the South China Sea. So the question becomes: Is China truly aiming to construct a blue water navy that threatens the US maritime rights and dominance in the Pacific Ocean?
