Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut today brazenly defended Sena’s storming of BCCI headquarters and stalling the meeting between the officials of BCCI and PCB. Raut stated that the party “did not regret stalling the meeting” and said, ”The move was carried out for the nation. We took the law in our hands only against Pakistan. We did not commit a crime”. Raut also dismissed suggestions of talking with its ally BJP regarding their reservations against Pakistan, instead of resorting to violent measures. He insisted that Sena would continue to oppose resuming ties with Pakistan, and that today’s attack was to express the nation’s anger at the neighbouring country.
Shiv Sena workers today stormed the headquarters of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Mumbai, stalling the meeting between the officials of the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
