Dowary Case : FIR Filed Against BSP MP & His Family

The daughter-in-law of BSP Rajya Sabha member Narendra Kashyap was found dead in his house on Wednesday morning (April 6), triggering cries of murder from her family that alleged she was being harassed for dowry. Himanshi Kashyap’s body, with a gunshot injury in her head, was allegedly discovered in a first-floor washroom of the bungalow in Ghaziabad’s Sanjay Nagar where she lived with her husband and in-laws, including Narendra. Her in-laws told police Himanshi had committed suicide by shooting herself with her husband Sagar’s .32 bore revolver after locking the washroom door. They rushed a bleeding Himanshi to Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital in Nehru Nagar, where doctors declared her brought dead. Police, however, said they were informed by the private hospital Himanshi was taken to, not her in-laws, about the death and were investigating the possibility of both suicide and murder. Later in the day, an FIR was filed at Kavi Nagar police station in which Narendra, his wife Devendri, his two sons Sagar and Siddharth and his two daughters under sections 304B (dowry death), 498A (cruelty by husband or in-laws) of the IPC and sections of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.
