South Korea and the United States are expected to begin talks next week on a possible deployment of an advanced US missile defense system. A joint task force is being set up to look into the rollout of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense System, or THAAD. The two allies announced their intention to deploy THAAD last Sunday, hours after the DPRK launched a long-range rocket. South Korean media say President Park Geun-hye is expected to make a statement next week.
