The Pentagon said on Monday that the US and South Korea have begun negotiations on the deployment of a missile defense system in response to the DPRK’s satellite launch. Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said the goal of the formal consultations is to bilaterally explore the feasibility of deploying the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) on the Korean Peninsula.
