DPRK to boycott UN Human Rights Council

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea says it will boycott the UN Human Rights Council. The DPRK’s Foreign Minister Ri Su-yong told a forum of the Council in Geneva that his country will not take part in any international sessions that examine its human rights record. He further added that the DPRK will not be bound by any of the council’s resolutions. Ri went on to say that the UN Human Rights Council was plagued by “politicization, selectivity and double standards.”
