Dr Mahathir denies media reports, says he did not say three years

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has denied saying that he would step down as Prime Minister within three years to hand over the reins to PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, when asked to comment on the term Monday night.

It was reported that the prime minister told CNBC that in an interview in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday where he was attending an Asean summit.

The premier said that after attending a open house event where he was also asked on how his meeting with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had gone earlier Monday evening.
