Drowning ice skaters saved by joint rescue operation from winter swimmers

The successful rescue of two drowning ice skaters from the Hunhe River by a group of heroic winter swimmers was captured on amateur video on November 23 in the city of Fushun in northeast China’s Liaoning Province.

“I saw a person ice skating and then suddenly fallg into the river over there,” said Geng Zhen, who was by the riverbank with his swim team. Geng ran to his fellow swimmers, calling for them to help. The two drowning skaters were saved by the rescuers’ joint efforts and are currently in stable condition.
