East China mine collapse: Month-long rescue work continues for trapped miners
Almost after a month since the gypsum mine collapse in Pingyi county in east China’s Shandong Province, four miners are still trapped 220 meters below. The rescuers are now closer to finally reach the miners. The rescue efforts are now focused on drilling a tunnel to the spot where the survivors were last located. Through this tunnel, an escape capsule which has been tested repeatedly will be used to lift the trapped miners one by one.
