Egyptian diplomat Ahmed Aboul-Gheit is scheduled to start his role as the Arab League’s new leader on Friday. As Secretary General, his first order of business will be meeting with senior officials on Sunday. The Arab League’s 22-member states elected the veteran diplomat to head the body in March. His term is due to last five years.
