Egypt’s president rallies troops after ISIL attacks

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has made an unannounced visit to the Sinai Peninsula to rally the country’s troops on Saturday. It comes after a wave of deadly jihadist attacks on security forces in the region. According to an army spokesman, the former military chief told the soldiers that his visit was meant “to salute the heroes of the armed forces and to express to them my recognition”.
