Empire State Building lit up in blue to mark 70th Anniversary of United Nations (Time Lapse)

Empire State Building was turned into UN Blue on Saturday to mark the 70th birthday of the United Nations.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Charter. With the ratification of this founding document by the majority of its signatories, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the Organization officially came into being.

The iconic landmark is one of hundreds around the world to be lit blue in celebration of the UN’s 70th anniversary.
