EU approves to relocate 120,000 refugees

The European Parliament approved plan to relocate 120,000 refugees from Italy, Greece, and Hungary among member states in an emergency vote on Thursday.

The plan, proposed by the European Commission, was passed after 370 to 134 votes, with 52 abstentions.

The European Commission welcomed the vote immediately, hailing it as an important step to solve the crisis.

The number of 120,000 is a big increase from the earlier one of 40,000 refugees the European Union ministers agreed to relocate on Monday.
